Held In Suspense
When, oh, when are we going to get our results for the Selective Test? Everyday, when I walk home from school, I check my mail box to see if the results have been received. It is exactly the same as when you are watching a movie and they hold you in suspense…… except this is more important.
For those who don’t know what the “Selective Test” is, it is a test where you have to do a test on English, Maths, General Ability and Writing. This test is for anyone who wants to make it into a Selective High school. When we filled in the form, we had to write down four choices of all the Selective Schools. My choices where, Sydney Girls, St George Girls, Carringbah and Tempe.
I heard on the radio, that they would have the results by the 20th of June but we still haven’t received it yet.
If I had the “big yellow package” right now, I would be shaking with fear and excitement. Everyday when I go to school, I ask my other year six friends if they have received them yet.
What would you do if you made it? If I made it, I would be jumping around yelling my head off! I will be sure to write a post when I receive “it”. AUUGGGHHHH!!!
Jollybops, Jollybops, JOLLYBOPS!!!!
Words keep filtering through my mind about these mysterious Jollybops! Who are they? Keep reading to find out!!!
A few days ago, the Jollybops came and performed the Jollybops Aboriginal Science Show. There was a lot of exciting equipment and you could tell it would be exciting already. Rusty the Robot played the didgredoo and they had a foam boomerang which Rusty threw.
Momtahina got chosen to be a volunteer to pop the balloon with a stick with fire and there was helium inside the balloon. Nadine got chosen to be a volunteer to stand at the front with a cup on her head and when the Professer hit the hammer on the box, the cup fell off. It was so exciting. Nadine and Momtahina was so lucky!

Cross Country
BOOM!
Runners sped over the starting line keeping a steady pace.
Friday was the day of the cross country. We sat in our teams(i’m in Fraser), cheering our runners. For first, second and third, there was a reward of twenty points. The next seven runners would receive ten points. Eight, nine and ten year old would run two laps. The eleven and twelve year old ran three laps.
Sadly, i was a twelve year old which meant I had to run three laps. Me and momtahina ran together in the twelve year old race. It was terrible! My stomach ached but I continued to run.
I don’t like cross country’s.
Do you?

Why the Jellyfish has no bones
A long time ago, before humans were born, there once were jellyfishes that had bones, unlike today. The jellyfish was floating around the ocean trying to find someone to play with as it was bored out of its wits.
After searching for a long time it found a baby hammerhead. Playing around the underwater cave was dangerous and they both knew it but as the saying goes, forbidden sweets taste the sweetest. After exploring the cave they tried to get out, but the entrance was blocked by the father hammerhead.
The father hammerhead chased the jellyfish until they came to a dead end. The jellyfish looked guiltily at the hammerhead even though he didn’t do anything wrong. Without hesitation the hammerhead smashed into the jellyfish breaking all its bones. Suddenly the baby hammerhead started to cry.
“Stop, daddy!” It said.
The dad turned around, “What?” he asked.
“Dad, we were just playing! He didn’t hurt me!”
This is why the jellyfish has no bones.

HIGH SCHOOL!
The Speech
This week we did our speeches on our holiday project for our school reports. Our holiday project was, “What makes me ________” and you add you’re on word in. I had done a few different things but I decided to do, “What makes me Teary eyed.” For what made me teary eyed I wrote about whale killing
Title: What makes me teary eyed.
Issue: Whale killing.
What it is: Whale killing is the killing of whales all over the world. Humans try to fool other by saying they are experimenting they are not. Instead they are making food and products and becoming wealthy and rich. Whales may soon become extinct.
Effect: Whales may soon become extinct if we continue to hunt ‘em down. Extinct means have no more of and all gone. We do not want whales all gone and have no more of them. Do we?
Affect: Killing whales may affect other whales especially its mate. It may also affect other whales because they may have to reproduce more whales for the whales taken. The reproductive system would be interrupted so they will eventually become extinct.
What can we do: We could try to persuade the whale killers to stop. We could also try to gather all the whales in one place and not let the whale killers go there so they won’t be able to find them. We could produce a system for protecting whales. There could also be a fine for killing whales.
My opinion: I think whale killing shouldn’t be done because whales may soon become extinct. I think hurting whales is hurting Nature.
What do you think about whale killing?
